Kiki Baker Barnes, PhD

Dr. Kiki Baker Barnes has distinguished herself as an outstanding professional, community servant and mentor. She assumed the leadership role, athletic director, in Dillard’s athletic department in 2006. She simultaneously held the position of head coach of the women’s basketball team until March 2013. Her initial responsibility was to facilitate the return of the athletics program after it was shuttered following Hurricane Katrina. She has not only resurrected the program, but she has also grown the program into a national model of student-athlete success and community service. Since taking the helm, Dillard’s athletic program has seen the establishment of new sports teams and the university’s first endowed athletic scholarship.A leader in sports administration, she was recently named Interim Commissioner for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). This is not her first stint with the GCAC as she was elected and served as President of the GCAC from 2009-2018, directing its growth after several universities departed for other conferences. Dr. Barnes has become a national expert in strategic planning, organizational management and program revitalization leading her to accept positions as a member of several organizations such as the National Administrative Council of the NAIA, the NAIA Athletic Directors Association Board of Directors and the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Board of Directors. She currently serves as Chair of the (NAIA) Conduct and Ethics committee and will serve as President of the NAIA Athletic Directors Association Board of Directors for the 2019-2020 year. She is President/CEO of Kiki Baker Barnes, LLC, a coaching and speaking business focused on helping others unlock their potential and founder of So You Want A Career in Athletics™ a professional leadership development program designed to expose girls ages 13-18 to career opportunities in sport.

A trailblazer as well, Dr. Barnes is the only intercollegiate athletic director in the state of Louisiana and was the first female and first African-American president of the GCAC. On June 11, 2019, Dr. Barnes was awarded the industry’s highest award, the Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year Award. In 2015, Dr. Barnes received the prestigious “Administrator of the Year Award” presented by the Women Leaders in College Sports (formerly known as National Association of College Women Athletic Administrators – NACWAA). In 2011, 2014 and 2015, her peers voted her GCAC Athletic Director of the Year. In 2018, the New Orleans Pelicans honored her for her work in the community. She was most recently named to New Orleans CityBusiness Woman of the Year class of 2018, “People to Watch Class of 2014” and was honored by the Girls Scouts of Louisiana Southeast as a 2014 Woman of Distinction. Dr. Barnes also received the Gambit’s Top 40 under 40 of New Orleanians making a difference in the community in 2013. Dr. Barnes was featured as one of 6 women of empowerment in the 2012 Minority Report in New Orleans.

Barnes completed her dissertation research on the relationship between coach’s influence, student engagement, and student-athlete success. She is married to Marc Barnes and they have two children, Caitlin and Marc Jr.

Dr. Tammy Lewis Wilborn

Dr. Tammy Lewis Willborn

Dr. Tammy Lewis Wilborn is America’s #1 Mental Health and Wellness Expert™. Dr. Wilborn is a board-certified Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor, keynote speaker, author, and founder of the annual Black Women’s Wellness Conference, which promotes mental health and wellbeing in Black women. She is the Owner of Wilborn Clinical Services, LLC, a multi- service practice that provides counseling, workshops, consultation, and wellness coaching.Dr. Wilborn previously served as visiting assistant professor of Counselor Education at the University of New Orleans and adjunct professor of counseling at Xavier University of New Orleans. Dr. Wilborn has 19 years of professional counseling experience and is an in-demand speaker who has presented extensively on wellness, mental health, self-care, Black women’s work experiences, and women’s empowerment.

Dr. Wilborn is a media expert who is a regular contributor for the Huffington Post and WBOK 1230 AM; and served as executive producer on Things with Feathers (2017), a short film about childhood sexual abuse (CSA) that seeks to break the silence and stigma around CSA, which won at the 2018 Shreveport Urban Film Festival. A leader in her field, Dr. Wilborn was named an Emerging Leader in 2016 by the Southern Association of Counselor Education and Supervision and served as the President of the Louisiana Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (2018-2019). She is also a published author in the counseling literature and currently writing a book that expands the dialogue on Black women’s work as a wellness issue.

Dr. Wilborn holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a M.S. in Counseling from Loyola University of New Orleans.

Amanda Kennedy

With over fifteen years of partner marketing, digital marketing and account management under her belt, Amanda Kennedy decided it was time to take the leap from client side to agency side. At Morgan & Co. Amanda wears several hats, and gloves, and mittens. Hailing from Northern Wisconsin, where you jump around to keep warm and stay alive, we put her to task in several departments. Amanda oversees campaign conversion programs and processes for clients, builds and manages client PPC programs, works on client landing page call to action strategies, spearheads several strategic initiatives for the agency, and creates content for public events, in between everything else.Her marketing expertise is the result of years working with Healthcare organizations such as eHealth and Medicare Solutions, Financial Services companies like Bank of America and Wells Fargo and consumer media brands like AOL, Fortune and CNN. Prior to taking her career online, Amanda spent years in design and retail marketing working for several toy companies including MindWare, University Games, inventor of Murder Mystery Party and Great Explorations, the nation’s leading producer of glow in the dark toys. Who doesn’t love noodling over a mystery under the glow of stars on a ceiling? Some days it feels like the media challenges clients bring to the table that we happily, and heartily, take to task solving.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B. F. A. in Illustration and Tulane University in Media Arts, Amanda lends a design perspective when called upon and is a member of the New Orleans Chapter of the American Marketing Association. Once a weekly tennis player, now forever a tennis enthusiast, Amanda is also a board member of the Friends of Atkinson Stern Tennis Center.
